Google Slides App for iOS
The new Google Slides app is out!
On Monday, Google released the Google Slides app for iOS. For those looking for anything other than a simple text editor to compliment your existing Google Slides, you will be disappointed.
When you start the app it gathers all of your presentations in a very clean, great looking view. You can either create a new presentation or edit a previous one. Inside the app you can easily edit text and add a variety of slide layouts. You can share, collaborate and even save as a Powerpoint. Text editing allows you to adjust font, color, and the size. You are able to control the paragraph formatting and to fill the text boxes with color.
All of the editing of the slides can be done offline.
What this app is lacking is a full-featured, on-the-go presentation editor. If you want to have an image in the background that must be added on the full web version and not this app. It is not a Haiku Deck replacement or even a competitor.
If you’re presenting with Google Slides, this can be a great quick editor for those times when you realized you spelled something wrong right before you’re going on stage. If you’re looking for something more, you will not find it in this app. However, some see this app as a stepping stone for people considering completely leaving Microsoft 365. What do you think?
